Q1. Do I need a Doctors referral to have physiotherapy?
No. A referral from a Doctor is not necessary. We can liaise with your GP to update them on any progress.
Q2. When are the next appointments available?
We endeavor to offer all our clients an appointment within 24hours of the time you call.
Q3. How long is a treatment session?
45 minutes is allotted for an initial assessment. This will allow a thorough review of your history and presenting condition. A treatment pathway will be formulated and initial treatment commenced.
Q4. How many treatments will I need?
That depends on your condition. Your Physiotherapist will discuss your treatment, goals and prognosis with you so you can plan this together.
Q5. What treatments are available?
Following on from a thorough assessment treatments available can include:
- Manual therapy
- Exercise Programme
- Advice and education
Other treatment options can be discussed on a case by case basis.
Q6. How experienced will my physiotherapist be?
Each Physiotherapy team mamaber has at least 5 years experience and are operating at a senior level. Each Physiotherapist is a member of:
- Health Professional Council
- Chartered Society Physiotherapy
- Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists
Q7. What to do prior to my first appointment?
We ask that each new patient arrives 10 minutes prior to their first appointment. This allows time for completion of any paperwork and will help ensure you are seen on time. Key points for your initial appointment are:
- Wear comfortable loose clothing as access to the affected area will be required by your physiotherapist.
- Bring any relevant medical notes/investigations with you
- Bring contact details of anyone e.g. who you may wish us to forward our findings to
Q8. What if I am covered by Private Medical Insurance?
Physio Liverpool is recognised by all major insurance companies. Prior to attending your initial appointment you should contact your insurance company to gain an authorization code for your physiotherapy sessions.
Q9. How can I pay?
We accept cash, cheque and card. Payment is made after each session.
